Coffee Talk Groups  are small groups of 3—5 women that meet on a regular basis (using and practicing the Wellspring Listening Skill) for the purpose of learning how to “hear the heart’s inner soul conversations. When inner soul conversations are heard it allows a woman to unstuff her stuff and find freedom and joy in areas of her life. 

 

DSC Coffee Talk Groups meet on a regular basis, whether that’s once a week, every other week, or even once a month.  Besides learning to give the gift of Wellspring Listening, your Coffee Talk Group is your special girl group to have fun with, make movement (exercise/walk) with, be accountable to, have coffee with and or even go shopping with!  They are great groups and every woman needs a Coffee Talk Group! Listening—a Lost Art of Loving

When we think of communication, we tend to only think of the active part of conversation—speaking— while often neglecting the application part of listening.  Listening takes work, and when we don’t listen, we will either mind-read, our fix the other person, or wound them.

What is Wellspring Listening—the Listening Skill in a Coffee Talk Group

Wellspring Listening is a form of reflective, hearing the heart listening using certain skills that are learned and applied to help any woman who wants to learn to “hear the heart so she can win the heart.”  Wellspring Listening is learning the art of hearing with the heart. Wellspring Listening is going from being an adequate listener to becoming an effective listener.  It’s not just avoiding the bad habit of interrupting or finishing my sister’s sentence ~ it’s listening to an entire thought that she’s saying without thinking how I’m going to respond.

 

The Goal of Wellspring Listening

 

One goal of Wellspring Listening is that our sister is heard to unstuff her  stuff and to discover for herself what is going on in the inside of her feminine soul.  Most likely, our sister will desire to discover what’s going on in her heart if we simply Wellspring Listen (attentively reflect). When we are given the gift of hearing our own heart, there’s a greater measure of potential that we will take  ownership to make changes.

Outside of women knowing God, believing in Jesus and understanding right doctrine to “do life” women need connectedness with other women, pathways to grow, places to serve using their gifts, and encouragement to be real about inner feminine soul struggles, discover their purpose and become mature.
