shining his light : our hearts, relationships, homes

The Sunday morning service is important. It’s when we come together as a body and worship God together.  We give and receive instruction and encouragement from His Word, and connect with God’s people.  And yet, as important as that service is, the service is not central to our vision.  Each person shining for Him, each relationship shining for Him is our central focus. We believe the most powerful way to cause the world to hunger and thirst after the Lord is for each member, each relationship to shine for Him in the way we live—to have integrity—in the home, in church, in the market place and in all other relationships

DSC‘s leadership team views each and every person at DSC as a minister.

According to the Bible, each and every person is a minister.

This takes the focus off the Sunday Service, the Church Building, the Pastor, Elders and leadership team and puts the focus on each member, each relationship and each home.  Each believer is responsible for their own walk with Jesus. It’s the leader’s job is to “...equip God’s people to do his work and build up the church, the body of Christ…” (Ephesians 4:12).

Because the home is such a naturally welcoming place of ministry, we encourage every member to be open to use their homes for Home Groups, Bible Studies, places for both discipleship and evangelism.
